UH-Hilo’s Retsky Repeats PacWest Weekly Honors
Freshman goalkeeper posted two shutouts last week
A freshman defender of the University of Hawai‘i at Hilo women’s soccer team has scored back-to-back weekly honors from the Pacific West Conference.
Vulcan goalkeeper Lolo Retsky was named PacWest Defender of the Week for Sept. 12-18. Retsky was also tapped for the honor the previous week.
The Calabasas, Calif., native totaled seven saves and allowed zero goals in posting two shutouts last week, with a 3-0 win against Regis University and a scoreless tie against Hawai‘i Pacific University.
With most teams in the conference at least five games deep into the 2022 season, Retsky ranks among the top in the PacWest with a .400 goals-against average (No. 1), two goals allowed (No. 1), three total shutouts (No. 1), .600 shutouts per game (No. 3) and a .867 save percentage (No. 3).
With help of the Vulcans backline defense, Retsky has also compiled the third-lowest saves total at 13 for a conference low of 2.60 saves per game.
