All Lanes of Kanoelehua Avenue in Hilo Again Open

Update: All lanes on Kanoelehua Avenue are now open, police reported at 12:39 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, in a media advisory. The Hawai‘i Police Department thanks the public for its patience.
Original story: The Hawai‘i Police Department reports that the outside northbound lane of a portion of Kanoelehua Avenue (Highway 11) in Hilo will be closed for the next three hours because of a traffic issue.
A large truck downed a utility pole and wires on Kanoelehua Avenue near Lanikaula Street. The outside northbound lane will be closed while work is done to clear the pole and lines.
Police advise motorists to expect delays and to avoid the area by using Railroad Avenue or Manono Street.
