Update: Hawai‘i Island police report that Jesus Sanchez, who was previously reported missing, was located in good health Tuesday, June 28.

Original story: Big Island police are asking the public for its help with locating a missing man.

Police are looking for 39-year-old Jesus Sanchez, who was reported missing by his family. He was last seen Monday, June 27, in the area of the Ola‘a Forest Reserve hunter station near the Volcano transfer station, wearing a hoodie and shorts.

Sanchez is described as 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall, weighing 180-185 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. He is also known to frequent the Volcano, Pāhala and Hawaiian Ocean View Estate areas.

Anyone with information about Sanchez’s whereabouts is asked to call the police department’s nonemergency line at 808-935-3311, attention Officer Kenneth Ishii.
