UPDATE: Hawai‘i Island police reported Friday, March 18, that 52-year-old Ambeka Laver of Ka‘ū, who was wanted on an outstanding bench warrant for questioning in a criminal investigation, turned herself in on Thursday, March 17. Police thank the public for its assistance in locating Laver.

Authorities seek the public’s help locating a Ka‘ū woman wanted on an outstanding bench warrant and for questioning in connection with a criminal investigation.

Ambeka Laver

Fifty-two-year-old Ambeka Laver is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall, 145 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She is known to frequent the Ka‘ū and South Kona areas.

Hawaiʻi police remind the public that harboring or concealing a wanted person could result in criminal charges.

Anyone with information on Laver’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact Detective Donovan Kohara at 808-326-4646 ext. 267; or via email at donovan.kohara@hawaiicounty.gov. They may also contact the police department’s non-emergency number at 808-935-3311.

Citizens who wish to remain anonymous can make an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 808-961-8300 and be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Crime Stoppers does not record any calls or subscribe to caller ID.
