HPD: Fire Extinguished, Smoke Clears After Fire at Hilo Transfer Station

UPDATE: The fire at the Hilo Transfer Station warehouse has been extinguished and the smoke has cleared, the Hawai’i Police Department reported in an advisory message at 9:17 p.m. Thursday.
Hawai‘i Police Department is advising anyone with respiratory problems to avoid Leilani Street in the area of the Hilo Transfer Station Because of smoke from a fire at the station’s sorting warehouse.
