Fire Hydrant Flow Test Scheduled for Mikahala Place in Kea‘au

The county Department of Water Supply is notifying customers along Mikahala Place and Kipimana Street in Kea‘au that a fire hydrant flow test will be conducted in early March.

According to a news water notice from the department, customers along the two roads between Kalara and Mikahala streets, including all side roads and lanes, could experience issues with their water during the test period.

DWS will conduct the test on on Mikahala Place between 8 and 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 2.

The affected area could experience slightly discolored and turbid water for several hours after the test. Customers are advised to refrain from washing clothes and to store a container of water for drinking needs until the supply of water is restored to normal.

Customers who experience any unusual problems during or after the flushing period can call district supervisor Carl Nishimura at 808-961-8790.
