Repairs to an East Hawai‘i bridge will require a lane closure tonight.

According to a Hawai‘i County Civil Defense message, the state Department of Transportation Highways Division will make repairs to the Nanue Bridge in the North Hilo District near the 18-mile marker on Highway 19. Work crews will be on scene at 5:30 p.m. today. One lane of traffic will be closed to accommodate for the repair work.

The closure will continue throughout the night.

Motorists are reminded to drive with caution, obey the flagman directing traffic and drive slowly across the bridge for their safety and the safety of the work crews.
