Winter Weather Advisory Remains in Effect for Big Island Summits
Periods of freezing rain are forecast over the summits of Maunakea and Mauna Loa this morning, prompting the National Weather Service to issue a winter weather advisory earlier this morning.
The advisory remains in effect until noon today, Dec. 19.
Freezing rain will result in light icing, making conditions very slippery.
A winter weather advisory means periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.
