Temporary Closure Scheduled for Further Roadway Investigation at End of the World

A temporary road closure is scheduled, today, starting at 9 a.m. till noon as police further investigate a murder at End of the World.

Hawai‘i Police Department’s Area II Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU) is conducting further investigation on Keauhou Kainaliu Beach Road after Joey Richmond, 46, of Kailua-Kona, was found dead on May 25.

A previous HPD release announced Keala O Keawe Road (Highway 160) near the scenic point above Pu’uhonua O Hōnaunau National Historical Park would also be closed today. However, this is not the case.

According to authorities, this investigation was completed previously and the road is now open.
