Kona Listed Among Top 26 Expedia Destinations

What are the most extravagant vacation destinations in the world? According to Expedia.com, Hawaiʻi Island’s Kailua-Kona is one of them.

The online travel giant recently featured Kona among 26 luxury destinations worldwide, including exotic getaways like Tuscany, Bora Bora, Hong Kong and Cancun. The article described its list of featured destinations as “the swankiest, most relaxing” and “beautifully lavish places” to visit.

Kona made the list of top vacation spots by virtue of its various beachfront accommodations–the perfect place to rest and dine to the sound of waves while enjoying luxury resort amenities.

Expedia also mentioned The Four Seasons Resort Hualalai by name for its on-site florist and custom floral arrangements for hotel guests, and tailor-made breakfasts in bed prepared by resort’s culinary team. Expedia also lauded Kona’s helicopter tours, which offer visual journeys over waterfalls, black-sand beaches and glowing lava flows.

The Expedia article suggested that an extravagant vacation is a good way to spend tax return money. Fortunately, Hawaiʻi residents won’t have to go far to enjoy one of the best vacation getaways in the world.
