Patrick Landez Releases “Hoʻomanaʻo”
Hōkū Hanohano award winning artist, Patrick Landez, has released his new album, “Hoʻomanaʻo” (To Remember).
The 12-track album is his slack key instrumental love letter to Hawaiʻi. The album is available via online streaming services including iTunes, Spotify, and Pandora. Physical copies of the album will be available February 2017 at Mele.com.
Landeza said, “”Hoʻomanaʻo” is a re-telling of my younger days when I was just learning how to play slack key guitar from my Uncles who were also the slack key masters in the music business.” He continued, “These were not just lessons on the guitar but lessons in life, and my interpretations of these timeless classics.”
This is Landeza’s eighth album, and fourth album that he has produced with Chris Lau. Landeza said, “Chris and I go way back. Not only are we long-time friends but we are also professional partners-in-crime when it comes to developing music together.”
Lau added, “Working with Patrick is always a fun and creative journey. This album really showcases his talent and his slack key prowess. I think his mentors will be pleased.”
Landeza is also currently working on his second book, “From The Island of Berkeley,” and in the middle of filming his upcoming narrative film, “Aloha Everywhere, The Story Of Patrick Landeza,” which chronicles the life and times (and sometimes struggles) of growing up Hawaiian on the mainland.
Landeza said, “The book and film are intended to inspire others to follow their passions no matter what adversities may arise.”
