Paradise Roller Girls to Play Last Game of Season
Hilo’s Paradise Roller Girls will host their final game of the 2016 season on Saturday, Oct. 29, at 7 p.m.
This family-friendly roller derby bout will take place at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium.
The Waimea Wranglers and the Resurrection Roller Girls of Ronhert Park, Calif., are also expected to make an appearance.
“I’m really excited to skate on the track with my team,” said Michiko “Miso Deadly” Hammond, one of PRG’s newest skaters. “We’ve all been training hard at practice and with this being our last game, we are surely going to give it our best and close out the season with a ‘hit.’”
The first game will feature Waimea versus Resurretion at 3 p.m. The Big Island Babes, Hawai‘i’s junior derby, will have two inter-squad scrimmages (by age group) at 5 and 6 p.m.
Paradise Roller Girls are set to play Resurrection at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $5 (no charge for keiki 5 and younger) and can be purchased at Lucy’s Taqueria, Kadota Liquor, Jungle Love, Mt. View Video, from any Roller Girl or at the door.
The Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium is located at 201-323 Manono St, in Hilo.
