Roseline Estrella

Roseline Marie Estrella, 87, of Makawao, passed away on Oct. 4, 2016, at her home under the care of Islands Hospice. She was born on Jan. 19, 1929, in Hawai‘i.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church; mass will begin at noon; burial will follow, 1 p.m., at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery in Makawao.
Roseline was a retired business owner. She was predeceased by her husband, Herman R. Estrella, and daughter, Judy Pahukoa. She is survived by her son, Herman H. (Ernestine) Estrella; daughter, Loretta (Lee) Estrella Marciel; son-in-law, Raymond Pahukoa; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Elsie Pualeilani Rodrigues
January 19, 1931 – October 4, 2016
Elsie Pualeilani Rodrigues, 85, of Kū‘au, passed away on Oct. 4, 2016, at Hale Makua Kahului. She was born on Jan. 19, 1931, in Wailuku.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church; mass will begin at 11 a.m.; a private urn burial will follow.
Elsie was a retired Security Guard for Freeman Security. She is survived by her daughters, Adelaide “Addie” Flynn, Melody (Ernest) Stratton, Margo (Norman) Fukushima, Charmaine (Leroy) Rodrigues, Ramona Rodrigues; sons, Karl Phillips, Keith (Teresa) Phillips, Kent (Gail) Phillips; 18 grandchildren; 7 step grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter, 2 step great-great grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Audrey Flores and Marty Fordyce.
The family of “Aunty Elsie” want to express their heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all the staff at Hospice Maui and at Hale Makua Kahului East. Mahalo nui loa.
Manuel Lopes III
July 28, 1969 – October 2, 2016
Manuel Lopes III, 47, of Kula, passed away on Oct. 2, 2016 in Kula. He was born on July 28, 1969 in Santa Ana, California.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, at Ballard Family Mortuary, service at 7 p.m.
Visitation will also be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at St. Anthony Church in Wailuku, Mass will begin at 11 a.m., and cremation will follow.
Family requests no flowers.
Manuel was employed at Kula Lodge. He was a genuine people-person with an unforgettable personality. He was a loving father, son, brother, cousin, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him and he will never be forgotten.
He is survived by his sons, Aaron R. (Tatiana) Quitazol-Lopes, Nicholas D.O. Lopes, and Isaiah L.I. Quitazol-Lopes; mother, Monica Revells; sister, Alyssa Lopes; brothers, Joshua Revells, and Travis Lopes; granddaughter, Aneleia Rose Quitazol-Lopes; grandmother, Margaret Louis; and fiancé, Alda Zapata.

Debra Anne Pedro, 62, of Kīhei , passed away on Oct. 1, 2016 at her home. She was born on Sept. 5, 1954 in Honolulu.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016, at Ballard Family Mortuary, Kahului; services will begin at 12:30 p.m., and cremation will follow.
Debra is survived by her only child, a daughter, Calmentina “TINA” Pedro (Terrance “KEONI”) Gomes; brother, Joseph “Joe” Pedro; sisters, Calmentina “Cal” (Leonard Sr.) Feliciano, Trina (Dennis Sr.-deceased) De Motta; granddaughters, Ajalee Pedro-Moniz, and Aeva Gomes; and grandson, Atlas Gomes; nieces, Baby Girl “Josette” Pedro (deceased), and Tanya Feliciano (deceased); nephews, Leonard Feliciano, Jr., Gregory Feliciano, Joshua Feliciano, Curtis Pedro, Adrien “Kula” Pedro, Alfred Salcedo, Scot De Motta, Marc De Motta, Erik De Motta, and Dennis De Motta Jr. (deceased).
Debra was predeceased by her father, Alfred Pedro Sr.; mother, Mary Militante; brothers, Alfred Pedro Jr., Randolph Militante; and sister, Wanda Pedro.
Rufina Sagayaga Dela Cruz

Rufina Sagayaga Dela Cruz, 71, of Makawao, passed away on Sept. 29, 2016 at her residence, under the care of her loving family and Hospice Maui. She was born on Nov. 16, 1944 in the Philippines.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 14, 2016 at Norman’s Mortuary; service will begin at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016 at Norman’s Mortuary; prayer service at 11:30 a.m.; followed by burial, 12:30 p.m. at Maui Memorial Park Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Rogelio Dela Cruz; son, Roland Dela Cruz; daughter, Rosie (Ricardo) Santos; siblings, Demetrio Sagario, Carlina S. Queja, Antonio Sagario, Luis Sagario, Alejandro Sagario, Domingo Sagario, Inocencio Sagario; 2 grandchildren, Miyka, and Kolten.
Keith Thurston Tatsuo Shimomura

Keith Thurston Tatsuo Shimomura, 73, of Pukalani, passed away on Sept. 27, 2016 in Kahului, under the care of Islands Hospice and his loving family. He was born on June 7, 1943 in Lahaina, Maui.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016 at Norman’s Mortuary; eulogy at 7:20 p.m.; service at 7:30 p.m. Burial will be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 7, 2016 at Maui Veterans Cemetery in Makawao.
