badgeThe Hawai’i Police Department has reclassified a March 31 fatal shooting from a murder to a suicide.

Authorities announced Friday that they had completed their investigation.

Final autopsy results determined that the woman’s cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head and that the manner of death was suicide.

On March 31, Kona Patrol officers responded to a 7:11 a.m. call, where they located 62-year-old Marsha Mansker unresponsive at a home on Mahilani Drive in the Kona Highland subdivision.

James Mansker, Marsha Mansker’s husband, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of second-degree murder. He was released the next day, pending further investigation.
