HPD Investigates Monday Morning Robbery in HIlo

badgeA Monday morning robbery in Hilo is being investigated by the Hawai’i Police Department.

Authorities report that a 27-year-old Hilo man was assaulted at around 6:15 a.m. The incident occurred at the corner of Keawe Street and Haili Street.

The man’s wallet and cell phone were taken in the assault.

Police say the suspect is described as a local male, about 5-foot-10, and 125 to 130 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes and was wearing a yellow T-shirt.

The victim declined treatment for his injuries.

Anyone with information regarding the incident should call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 925-3311.

Those who prefer to remain anonymous should call the Big Island Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300.
