huntingArmy officials will open several areas within Pohakuloa Training Area on April 16 and April 17 from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. for bow hunting of pigs, goats, and sheep.

The Humu’ula Unit, which includes training areas 1 through 4, and the Menehune Unit, including training areas 5 and 6, will be opened.

Hunters are required to check in and check out at PTA’s Old Saddle Road Gate, across from the entrance to Mauna Kea State Park.

PTA says that two of its normal gate entrances – mile marker 49.5 along the Daniel K. Inouye Highway and Gate 10 near mile marker 53 on the Old Saddle Road – are not in service this weekend.
