half staff PIXABAYFlags will fly at half-staff through sunset on March 26 in a mark of respect for the victims of the terror attacks on March 22 in Brussels, Belgium.

President Barack Obama said in a proclamation that“we will do whatever it takes, working with nations and peoples around the world, to bring the perpetrators of these attacks to justice, and to go after terrorists who threaten our people.”

In Hawai’i, flags will fly at half-staff at the State Capitol and all state offices and agencies, including the Hawai’i National Guard.

“It saddens me that this international surge of terrorism has become the ‘new normal’ that can happen anywhere at any time,” said Governor David Ige. “Our thoughts and prayers are with those who were injured in the attacks in Brussels and we send our deepest condolences to the victims of this tragedy and their families.”
