Spring Break Anticipated to Cause Airport Rush

Travelers are being reminded by officials to prepare ahead of arriving to the state’s airports for Spring Break travel.

Over 65.1 million travelers are expected to travel throughout the country over the Spring Break travel season, which begins in March, according to the Transportation Security Administration.

The Hawai’i Department of Transportation is suggesting that Hawai’i travelers prepare ahead of time to avoid travel delays.

“Tens of thousands of people will travel to and from Hawai’i every day and it is recommended they allot extra time to pass through security checkpoints,” DOT noted in a release. “Passengers can help expedite the process by printing your boarding pass in advance, wearing shoes that easily slide on and off, make sure any liquid containers have less than 3.4 ounces or 100 milliliters, and they all fit in a quart size bag.”
