County Offers New Entrepreneurship Program
A new program being launched by the County of Hawai’i Business Resource Center will aim to promote and support local economic development.
The inaugural Hawai‘i County Entrepreneurship Program will begin on April 1 under the Department of Research and Development.
Individuals selected to participate are expected to participate in six mandatory day-long workshops, three in Hilo and three Kailua-Kona. The workshop will help to develop a business plan concept over the program’s six-month course.
The program will link participants and leaders in Hawai’i County’s business community, financial institutions, government agencies, and business development organizations to provide guidance and connection to resources that will assist in building a business plan.
“Entrepreneurs by nature are risk takers and doers ready to embrace change and discover a world of possibilities,” said Kawehi Inaba, Director of the Department of Research and Development. “This program will support these leaders and help strengthen their entrepreneurial skills leading to a better quality of life for the participants, their families, and our communities”.
Applications will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis for up to 20 people.
To apply, download the application materials on the Research and Development website.
The deadline for applications is Friday, March 18.
