An overnight temporary water shut-off is scheduled from Tuesday at 10 p.m. to Wednesday a 2 a.m.
The service disruption will take place along Kea’au Pahoa Road and Pahoa Village Road from Keonepoko Nui Standpipe Facilities to Kahakai Boulevard in Puna.
Department of Water Supply officials say the temporary water shut-off is necessary to relocate a fire hydrant for Kea’au-Pahoa Road Intersection Improvements on Old Government Road.
Once water service resumes, the waterlines will be flushed and cleaned. Customers may notice turbid and/or discolored water, as well as air trapped in their plumbing. The issued will dissipate with water use.

As a precaution, customers should disconnect any items that are dependent on water flow or pressure and prepare for water needs by storing water in a container for use during the shut-off.
