On Thursday, March 9, traffic signal work will be conducted at the Kaumana Drive, Lele Street, and Waianuenue Avenue intersection.
Work is expected to be conducted between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., pending weather conditions.
As part of the upgrade, the installation of wireless vehicle detection sensors will take place on all four approaches, which will then be programmed.
The intersection will remain open during the work and the County of Hawai’i Public Works Traffic Division will work on one approach at a time with special off-duty police officers aiding in directing traffic.
Motorists in the area should expect delays and are encouraged to use other routes.
