Police Continue to Search for Missing Puna Man

The Hawai’i Police Department released additional information on the 64-year-old Puna man who has been reported missing.

Authorities issued an initial alert just before 9:30 p.m. Tuesday for the man. identified as Wayne Uglum, who was last seen on foot in Orchidland at about 7 a.m. Monday morning.

Uglum, who has a medical condition that requires medication, has been described as Caucasian, 6-feet tall, and 160 pounds. He has blue eyes, brown hair, and a beard and mustache.

Police believe Uglum could possibly be in Kona.

Anyone with information regarding Uglum’s whereabouts should call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Those who prefer to maintain anonymity should call the Big Island Crime Stoppers at 961-8330.
