Military Convoys Slated from PTA to KMR

Military convoys will continue to travel on Big Island roadways on Friday and Saturday, this time in East Hawai’i.

Oahu-based service members are scheduled to travel between Pohakuloa Training Area and Keaukaha Military Reservation in Hilo.

On Friday, Feb. 19, convoys will travel from KMR to PTA between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

On Saturday, Feb. 20, convoys will travel from PTA to KMR between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The convoys will use the following roadways: Hilo Airport Road, Kanoelehua Avenue, West Puainako Street, Komohana Avenue, Puainako Extension Route 2000, and the Daniel K. Inouye Highway.

Motorists driving along the mentioned roadways during the scheduled times should be alert and drive with caution.

The convoys are part of coordinated efforts between the PTA Department of Army police, local authorities, and military units in support of unit training.
