Kawaihae to Pohakuloa Convoys Slated to Travel Wednesday

Along with military convoys traveling the roadways between Kawaihae Harbor and Pohakuloa Training area on Tuesday, United States Army Garrison-Hawai’i officials say the public can expect convoys on Wednesday as well.

Oahu-based service members will convoy from Kawaihae Harbor to Pohakuloa Training Area between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. on Feb. 17.

Roadways in use during the convoys will include Akoni Pule Corridor, Queen Kaahumanu Highway, Waikoloa Road, Mamalahoa Highway, and the Daniel K. Inouye Highway.

Efforts to organize the activity in support of unit training and readiness were conducted by the PTA Department of Army police, along with local authorities and military units.

Military police will escort the convoys.

Motorists planning on using the mentioned roadways during the scheduled times should use caution and remain alert.
