A temporary water shut-off is scheduled by the Department of Water Supply for an area along Mohouli Street, between Kapiolani Street to Kinoole Street in Hilo.

The shut-off will take place from 8 a.m. Thursday to 1 a.m. on Friday as waterline work for the Kapiolani Street Extension Project is conducted.

Once water service is returned, the lines will be flushed and cleaned. Customers may noticed turbid and/or discolored water during following the cleaning.

Trapped air in plumbing may also occur following the shut-off, however, the air will release as water resumes use.

Customers in the affected area should take any necessary precautions to protect property and facilities. This includes disabling electrical power to pumps and any other devices whose normal operations are dependent on water pressure and/or water supply.
