As part of a two-week military exercise period, known as “Lightning Forge,” more than 5,000 soldiers and civilians with the 25th ID’s 2nd Brigade Combat Team and various support units will hone their combat skills and certify crews and systems.

The training began on Sunday and will run through Tuesday, Feb. 9, utilizing multiple training areas both on the Big Island and Oahu.

Noise around Pohakuloa Training Area can be anticipated during the training period.

“Lighting Forge” provides the brigade with a challenging and comprehensive training experience, preparing Army soldiers, units, and families for future combat operations.
