A traffic shift along Komohana Street will begin on Monday, Feb. 1.

The shift will be to the mauka lane, which will remain under a one lane, one-way 24-hour traffic pattern in the Waianuenue Avenue direction between the Kukuau Street and Ponahawai Street intersection to accommodate pavement reconstruction on the makai lane.

Yamada and Sons, Inc. plans to expedite the world and complete this phase of the project by Friday, Feb. 19, pending weather and construction conditions.

As the work progresses, the opening of the southbound lane from Huali Place will be implemented.

Those driving in the area should anticipate delays and drive with caution.

Big Island Now will add this roadwork to its weekly list of Hawai’i Department of Transportation and County of Hawai’i lane closures.
