Woman Robbed While Checking HPP Mailbox

badge 123A robbery that occurred in Hawaiian Paradise Park on Tuesday morning is being investigated by the Hawai’i Police Department.

HPD reports that a 30-year-old woman was checking her mailbox, located on Paradise Drive near the 21st Avenue intersection, when she was confronted by a man with a knife who demanded money.

The suspected removed cash from the victim’s wallet and then fled into the bushes.

The incident occurred at some point between 8:45 a.m. and 9 a.m.

Police describe the suspect as in his mid-30’s, between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-8. He had short brown hair and a tan complexion. The man was also wearing a grey or white tank top and black shorts.

Anyone with information regarding the incident should call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Those who prefer to remain anonymous should call the Big Island Crime Stoppers number at 961-8300.
