HPD Investigating Human Remains Found in HPP

Human remains were located in the Puna District on Saturday.
Detectives with the Hawai’i Police Department’s Area I Criminal Investigation Section located human remains in the area of Beach Road, off Maku’u Drive in Hawaiian Paradise Park.
Police say the remains are in an advanced state of decomposition and an identity of gender was not immediately known.
Foul play is suspected to be involved in the case, although additional details were not immediately available.
The case is currently classified as a coroner’s inquest.

An autopsy will be conducted on Tuesday to determine the exact cause of death.
