Thirty-one-year-old Puna woman Helena Mae Lynne Pang was charged with burglary and theft in connection with a burglary that took place in Hilo last month.

According to the Hawai’i Police Department, a 76-year-old woman reported that her Ululani Street home was broken into on Dec. 26 and jewelry was removed.

Pang was identified as the suspect.

On Saturday, officers arrested Pang on two bench warrants and charged her with two counts of contempt of court. Additionally, she was found to be in possession of several of the items reportedly stolen during the December burglary.

Officers took Pang to the Hilo police cellblock as police continued to investigate. Additional items belonging to the victim were discovered during the investigation.
