P&R 2016 Park Maintenance Schedule

Several closures are on the Hawai’i County Department of Parks and Recreation’s 2016 schedule for four Big Island parks.

Monthly closures at ‘Āhalanui Park, Isaac Kepo‘okalani Hale Beach Park, Kahalu‘u Beach Park, and Spencer Park at ‘Ōhai‘ula Beach are slated to take place for maintenance and repair work.

‘Āhalanui Park, located in Puna, will be closed on the second Wednesday of each month from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The schedule is as follows: Jan. 13, Feb. 10, March 9, April 13, May 11, June 8, July 13, Aug. 10, Sept. 14, Oct. 12, Nov. 9, and Dec. 14.

Isaac Kepo‘okalani Hale Beach Park, also located in Puna, will close on one Tuesday each month and will open at 1 p.m. on the following day.

The schedule is as follows: Jan. 26, Feb. 23, March 8, April 12, May 10, June 14, July 12, Aug. 16, Sept. 13, Oct. 18, Nov. 15 and Dec. 13.

Kahalu‘u Beach Park, located in North Kona, will be closed until 10 a.m. on either the first or second Tuesday of each month.

The schedule is as follows: Jan. 12, Feb. 9, March 8, April 5, May 3, June 7, July 12, Aug. 2, Sept. 13, Oct. 4, Nov. 1, and Dec. 6.

Spencer Park at ‘Ōhai‘ula Beach, located in South Kohala, will close for the several days on the following dates: Jan. 13-14, Feb. 10-11, March 9-10, April 6-7, May 10-12, Sept. 13-15, Oct. 5-6, Nov. 16-17, and Dec. 7-8.
