The Department of Water Supply will conduct a fire hydrant flow test in Hilo on Tuesday, Jan. 19 between 9 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

DWS officials say the test will take place on a hydrant located along Lelea’o Street.

Customers along Kekuanao’a Street from Kanoelehua Avenue to Hilo International Airport, including Akahana Street, Mokuea Street, ‘Ailolo Street, Leleao’a Street, Kekuanao’a Place, and all of Keaukaha Military Reservation may experience discolored and turbid water following the test.

DWS suggests that customers in the potentially affected areas refrain from washing clothing and plan ahead for drinking water needs.
