Hakalau Bridge Repair Underway

Repair work began Monday on the Hakalau Bridge, which is mauka of Highway 19 on Kanna Road between Chin Chuck Road and Kaiwiki-Homestead Road.

According to the Department of Public Works, crews will replace old timber components with new wood preservative treated components.

Weather and construction conditions permitting, repair work on the bridge is expected to be completed by March 30. The bridge will be closed until the completion of the project.
