Comment Sought on Kanoelehua, Banyan Drive Planning
Kanoelehua Industrial Area and Banyan Drive have had studies commissioned by the State of Hawai’i Department of Land and Natural Resources for future planning in the area.
The Banyan Drive Working Group’s efforts to address the future of Banyan Drive include the understanding of conditions, limitations, and opportunities for formulation or revitalization strategies.
Management effectiveness of the DLNR’s Kanoelehua lands is the main aim of the Kanoelehua planning study, including the understanding of conditions, limitations, and opportunities for effective management of the lands.
The studies are now available for public viewing.
Members of the public are invited to review and provide comment on the studies, which are listed on the DLNR website.
In addition, two public meetings will be held at the County of Hawai’i Aupuni Center in Hilo on Friday, Jan. 15.
During the meetings, DLNR will present a briefing on the studies and give the public the opportunity to ask questions and provide comments.
Kanoelehua Industrial Area’s public meeting will take place at 9 a.m., while Banyan Drive’s meeting is slated for 1 p.m.
