A national recall of Sweet Leaf Tea in 16-ounce glass bottles was announced on Thursday by The Sweet Leaf Tea Company.

The United States Food and Drug Administration says the recall was voluntary and “out of an abundance of caution because of the possible presence of glass fragments.”

Glass breakage that occurred during the filling process is the culprit of the potential fragments.

Four complaints of glass found in the product have been noted. It is not clear whether or not any of those complaints came from individuals in Hawai’i.
