The United States Postal Service has announced that most Post Offices on the Big Island and throughout the state will close early on Christmas Eve.

Those closures are expected to occur at 12 p.m., and each post office will post its revised hours.

On Christmas Eve, regular mail delivery will continue on its regular full-day course and not be affected by the operation changes at retail locations.

Customers who use the postal service for commercial purposes should check with their Bulk Mail Entry Units for information regarding holiday hours of operation.

All Post Offices will be closed on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1 in observance of Christmas and New Year’s Day. Only priority mail will be delivered on these days.

On Tuesday, USPS announced their suggested holiday send by dates for arrival before Christmas.
