A new cost of Power Adjustment Clause will be the topic of a Jan. 26 meeting held by the County of Hawai’i Water Board.

Currently, the Power Cost Charge is $1.85 per thousand gallons. That fee may be lowered in order to reflect the decrease in the Department of Water Supply’s power costs and in accordance with Hawai’i Revised Statues Chapter 54, Part III.

DWS suggests that the customer Power Cost Charge rate should be dropped to $1.81.

If the new fee is approved, it will go into effect on the first day of the month after the Board approves the rate.
