Police Nab Trio in Hilo Burglary

Three individuals were arrested on Saturday following a Hilo burglary.

A 26 year-old man wanted on warrants for contempt of court and for violating terms of a deferred plea was located in the process by the Hawai’i Police Department.

Brandon Paulino-Pawai was arrested Saturday morning following an Iolani Street burglary. He was charged with first-degree burglary, contempt of court, and violating terms of a deferred please.

Paulino-Pawai’s bail was set at $15,250.

HPD also arrested Scott Vasconcellos-Rego, 19, and Ross Macariola, 23, both of Waimea, in connection with the burglary.

Macariola was released without charges, pending further investigation.

Vasconcellos-Rego was charged with first-degree burglary and an unrelated contempt of court. His bail was set at $5,150.

Both Paulino-Pawai and Vasconcellos-Rego awaited their initial court appearance on Monday at the Hilo Police cellblock.
