UPDATE: Island-Wide Hawaiian Telcom Outage Repaired

Hawaiian Telcom reports that repairs on the telephone service have been completed and the 9-1-1 system is now operational.

Hawaiian Telcom is currently experiencing disruption in services islandwide, which may also impact the ability to call the 9-1-1 emergency system.

According to officials, Hawaiian Telcom technicians are currently troubleshooting the issue, but it is unknown when service will be restored.

In addition, the disruption may also impact some cell phone service.

Individuals in need of emergency assistance who are not able to call 9-1-1 should go to the nearest Police or Fire Station.
