The Hawai’i Police Department reports that the decomposing body located in a ravine Friday is that of missing 93-year-old Masaru Miyamoto of Hilo.

Police located the body behind a Kahema Street home in Hilo as they were searching for a missing Hilo couple.

The body was identified through fingerprints late Monday.

An autopsy conducted Tuesday morning determined that the man died from injuries consistent with an accidental fall.
