Looking Ahead
Trade winds will continue to blow through the forecast period. A northeast to southwest band of showers has been spreading showers across Maui county overnight and will reach the Big Island early Tuesday. The trade wind flow will focus most of those showers over windward and mauka areas.

Today
Today we expect mostly cloudy skies with showers likely for windward and mauka spots. The Kona side is forecast to get scattered showers and areas of haze. High temperatures from 83° to 88°. Variable winds are forecast around 15 mph.
UV index at 9 (“very high” exposure level)

Tonight
Variable winds are expected in the evening around 15 mph. Low temperatures from 72° to 77°. Mostly cloudy skies are expected in the evening with occasional windward showers and scattered leeward showers.
