Police Search for Missing Teenager

A 16-year-old girl is being sought after by the Hawai’i Police Department.
Kuuipo Taketa was last seen on July 1 in Hilo.
Police describe Taketa as Japanese and Filipino, 5-foot-2, and 103 pounds. She has black hair, brown eyes, a fair complexion, and a slim build. In addition, Taketa has scars on her left forearms and on both thighs.
Taketa was previously reported missing on June 3 after last being seen on Jan. 19.
Anyone with information on Taketa’s whereabouts should call the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.
