Flooding Causes Downtown Hilo Road Closures

Flooding has caused the closure of two roadways in the Downtown Hilo area.

The Hawai’i Police Department reports that Kamehameha Avenue is closed to traffic between Ponahawai Street and Pauahi Street, and Pauahi Street is closed to traffic between Kamehameha Avenue and Aupuni Street.

Bayfront Highway is reportedly passable.

There is no current estimated reopening time.
