Woman Dies After Falling from Vehicle Window

A one-vehicle traffic casualty took place in Kona on Monday evening.

According to the Hawai’i Police Department, a 31-year-old Kona woman fell out of the passenger side of the vehicle she was riding in, sustaining life threatening injuries.

Police responded to a 7:41 p.m. call Monday, where they determined that the victim, identified as Keri Flores of Kona, was a passenger in a 2015 Nissan Sentra that was traveling east on Manawalea Street.

Flores was taken to Kona Community Hospital and was later transported to The Queen’s Medical Center on Oahu. She was pronounced dead at 7:39 a.m. Tuesday.

A coroner’s inquest investigation has been taken over by Traffic Enforcement Unit officers and an autopsy has been ordered to determine the exact cause of death.
