The Wailuku bridge, known better as the Singing Bridge, located along Highway 11 on the outskirts of Hilo on the Hamakua end of town, is currently operating under one lane of traffic.
Hawai’i County Civil Defense reports that the State of Hawai’i Highways Division was forced to close one lane of the bridge for emergency repairs.
The nature of the repair work was not immediately available.
Motorists who are able should use alternate roadays. Those who plan to use the roadway should drive with caution and except delays.
