PTA to Kawaihae Military Convoys Scheduled

Military convoys will travel between Pohakuloa Training Area and Kawaihae beginning Sunday, Aug. 30 and lasting through Thursday, Sept. 3.

Oahu-based service members will travel the connecting roadways from 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on each of the scheduled days.

Roadways in use include Daniel K. Inouye Highway, Mamalahoa Highway, Waikoloa Road, Queen Kaahumanu Highway, and Akoni Pule Corridor.

Military police will escort the convoys.

Local authorities, military units, and the PTA Department of Army police have all worked together to support the activity, which improves unit training and readiness.

Motorists driving on the roadways should be on alert and drive with caution.
