The Department of Water Supply will conduct hydrant testing along Old Volcano Highway in the Kea’au area on Sept. 11 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Affected areas stretch from the Kea’au Police Station to Milo Street, with the inclusion of Milo Street, ‘Ohe Street, Ho’awa Street, Uhi’Uhi Street and Wauke Place, and on Kea’au-Pahoa Road from Mamalahoa Highway to Kikania Street in.

Cutomers in the area may experience slight discolored and turbid water for several hours after the completion of the test. DWS advises affected individuals to avoid washing clothes and to store a container of drinking water that will last the duration of the abnormal water.

During the flushing period, customers who experience issues outside of discoloration and turbid water should call District Supervisor Carl Nishimura at 961-8790.
