The following temporary weekend road closure has been announced by the State of Hawai’i Department of Transportation.
Continuous activity on Umauma Bridge in Hakalau will cause alternating lane closures near mile marker 16 on Highway 19 to remain on a seven-day-a-week, twenty-four-hour schedule as bridge rehabilitation work is underway. Speed on the bridge is reduced to 20 miles per hour. The maximum width for any vehicle with a permit passing on the bridge is 12 feet.
All lane closures are weather permitting and have the possibility of changing without notice.
