Man Charged in Stolen Vehicle Incident

A stolen truck incident has led to felony charges for a Hilo man.

According to the Hawai’i Police Department, a 2006 Toyota pickup truck was removed from a parking lot on Puainako Street in Hilo on Sunday.

On Wednesday, the truck was located in Keaukaha. An HPD investigation determined that the suspect was 42-year-old Alfred Keahilihau of Hilo.

Officers arrested Keahilihau Wednesday afternoon. He was taken to the Hilo police cellblock as the investigation continued.

Keahulihau was charged Thursday afternoon with unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle. His bail was set at $10,000.

His initial court appearance was Friday.
