Identity of Decomposed Body in Hilo Released
The decomposing body of a 72-year-old man that was found along the road leading to the Hilo International Airport on June 15 has been identified as Thomas G. Rogers.
On June 17, the Hawai’i Police Department said that they had made positive identification of the man, but were withholding his name pending the notification of his family.
HPD reports that attempts to locate the man’s family members were not successful.
Rogers has no permanent address but had lived in Hawai’i and in Oregon.
Police ruled out foul play on June 16 when an autopsy determined he died of natural causes.
Anyone who has information regarding Rogers’ next of kin should call Detective Clarence Davies at 961-2383 or e-mail clarence.davies@hawaiicounty.gov.
